For couples therapists
Beyond the fifty-minute hour.
Conrad listens in session, guides your couples through homework at home, and brings what happened back to you, with both partners’ consent.
The week
A week has 10,080 minutes. Therapy gets fifty of them.
Most of a couple’s conflict happens between sessions, and you usually hear about it afterward, one partner at a time. Conrad reaches into the rest of the week, on the terms you set.
In session
On your phone, in the room
Run Conrad during the session. It listens while you lead, so you can return to what was actually said, not only what you noted down.
At home
Homework the couple does together
Assign a conversation for the week. The couple sits together with one device, and Conrad takes part in the way you chose.
Remote
A room when you’re apart
Everyone joins from their own device, like a video call. Because each voice arrives separately, Conrad knows who is speaking.
Homework modes
You decide how much Conrad says.
Every homework assignment has a mode. Here is the same argument about phones at dinner in each one.
An illustrative example. Alex and Sam are fictional.
Mission
Hear the conversation, not one side of it.
When someone describes an argument to an AI, the AI hears one account: what they remember, how it felt, what they believe the other person meant. And it tends to agree. Research on AI advice has found that overly agreeable answers can leave people more convinced they were right and less willing to repair.
Conrad works from the conversation itself, with both partners present and consenting. It helps each person see their own part: self-reflection, not ammunition.
It doesn’t decide who is right. It asks what happened, what each person needs, and what could move the conversation forward, and it cites what was said rather than judging who someone is.
And it is meant to be outgrown. The goal is skills a couple carries into everyday life. As they need Conrad less, they should use it less, and we won’t push them to do otherwise.
Conflict Resolution Adjuvant
An adjuvant supports a treatment. It isn’t the treatment. The therapy stays with you.
Commitments
What Conrad holds to
-
Both partners agree, every time
An assignment from you isn’t consent. Each partner agrees to each session themselves, and either can stop it at any moment.
-
It doesn’t take sides
Observations point to what was said and stay separate from interpretation. Either partner can correct a transcript, a speaker, or a conclusion.
-
Conversations stay out of our reach
We are building Conrad so that the people who run it can’t read what couples say. It’s a requirement, not a policy, and we will say plainly what is in place before anyone relies on it.
-
Not for every couple
Where there is violence, threats, or coercive control, a joint conversation may not be safe. Conrad is not built to detect danger, and silence from it never means a conversation was safe.
Pilot
Shape Conrad with us.
Conrad is in early development. We are inviting a small group of couples therapists to try it with consenting clients and help decide what it becomes.
- Free for the length of the pilot.
- In return, tell us what helps, what doesn’t, and what concerns you clinically.
- You choose which couples, if any, and which settings to use.
